Formcrafts vs FormAssembly
FormAssembly is an Indiana-based company that has been around since 2006. They are known for their flexible and powerful Salesforce connector.
Formcrafts is a modern and user-friendly alternative to FormAssembly, founded in 2012. Formcrafts also offers a powerful Salesforce connector, and is known for its ease of use.
Like FormAssembly, Formcrafts is also an official Salesforce AppExchange partner.
I will try to be as objective as possible with this comparison. Formcrafts and FormAssembly have different strengths and weaknesses, and it's important to understand them before making a decision.
Let's dive in. We will talk about:
Transparent pricing
There are two aspects to pricing you should think about: transparency and value.
Prior to 2023, FormAssembly's pricing was transparent, and largely an excellent value. However, in 2023, FormAssembly changed their pricing model to a talk-to-us model. This means that you need to contact them to get a quote.
I am not aware of the new pricing, but it is largely believed to be much higher (1).
And Formcrafts? You get transparency and value. Let's see:
- Starting at $99 a month (including the Salesforce connector)
- Month-to-month billing. Cancel anytime.
- Discounted annual plans.
- Special non-profit discounts.
- Dedicated technical support contact.
In addition, all Formcrafts plans include payments, and more then a dozen other integrations like HubSpot, Google Sheets, and Zendesk, and for no extra charge.
Need higher limits, or a custom plan? We also offer talk-to-us pricing. You get the best of both worlds. Learn more about our pricing.
Formcrafts' transparency goes beyond pricing. You can signup for a free trial and start exploring the platform right away. We don't need a credit card. We don't need a phone number. We don't need your firstborn. We just need your email.
Modern dashboard
At Formcrafts we are truly passionate about creating the best possible user experience. Our dashboard and form editor is remarkably easy to use, and blazing fast.
We offer workspaces, which allow you to split your account into teams or departments. Within a workspace, you can create folders to organize your forms. This is especially useful if you have a large number of forms.
Here is a side-by-side comparison of Formcrafts' and FormAssembly's dashboard:
This stark difference extends into the form editor as well. Let's take a practical example. In FormAssembly you can use formulas by referencing individual fields, using their IDs in a specific format. Something like this:
@IF(%%tfa_123%%="","TRUE","FALSE")
This is much simpler with Formcrafts. You can use a visual editor to create formulas. The visual editor can autocomplete fields, and point out errors in real-time. This prevent your formulas from becoming a mess as complexity increases.
We will discuss this in more detail below.
No code platform
Formcrafts was designed to be used by people with no coding knowledge, while still offering the flexibility and power that comes from coding.
FormAssembly encourages the use of JavaScript on their forms to achieve certain outcomes. We believe this involves a steep learning curve. Actions that require formulas and JavaScript in FormAssembly can easily be achieved in Formcrafts using the interface.
Let's look at some examples where the no-code editor in Formcrafts can achieve what requires formulas and JavaScript in FormAssembly:
Skip an object creation if a field is empty
Skip an object creation if a field contains a certain value
Double entry email verification
Salesforce connector
For most people this might be the most important part of the comparison. Both Formcrafts and FormAssembly offer a very powerful Salesforce connector, with two-way data flow.
Let's look at some of the features that are important to you:

Formcrafts offers a handful of features that give it an edge over FormAssembly:
- Infinite picklists: Formcrafts can link the search functionality directly to Salesforce, allowing you to create a picklist that can theoretically support an infinite number of records. FormAssembly does not recommend picklists with over 2,000 records for their Salesforce connector.
- Conditional prefill: Formcrafts allows you to specify conditions which would trigger a prefill
In addition, picklists in Formcrafts are more customizable. For example, you can associate images and descriptions with picklist options.
Security and compliance
Both Formcrafts and FormAssembly take security and compliance seriously, and conform to privacy regulations such as GDPR and CCPA.
However, FormAssembly offers additional compliance such as HIPAA and FedRAMP. These compliance are very industry-specific, and may not be required for most users. If you require these compliance, FormAssembly may be a better fit for you.

Reviews
This one is a toss. Both Formcrafts and FormAssembly have excellent third-party reviews on the Salesforce AppExchange. Formcrafts has an average rating of 5 stars, but this comes from a small number of reviews. FormAssembly has an average rating of 4.66 stars.
Formcrafts has a smaller team than FormAssembly, which gives us the ability to move faster and provide a more personalized experience. It is an ideal solution for all your web-to-lead, web-to-case, or web-to-anything forms.

I have used a lot of forms that integrate with Salesforce, [Formcrafts] is great with Salesforce, easiest form setup I have ever experienced, and support is excellent!
We are thoroughly impressed with FormCrafts so far. The user interface is straightforward, and the forms offer a modern user experience for end users.
FormCrafts is great in that it looks and feels like a truly modern form tool. End users breeze through the questions and pages thanks to the smooth design. Using FormTitans for over two years now, this is something I always dreamed of - native get / push integration with Salesforce (without Zapier, IFTT, etc), with a modern feel.
I can't recall the last time I worked with a company that has as great of customer service as Formcrafts ... I've never sent an email that wasn't responded to within MINUTES and have never had an issue left unresolved.
