KMC Limited Lifetime Warranty

KMC devices come with a limited lifetime warranty against all manufacturing defects in material or workmanship.
If you are the original purchaser of a KMC device that is not working properly, please fill out the warranty claim form below. After you have submitted your claim, our warranty department will reach out by email with next steps.

KMC Connected Equipment Warranty

KMC Surge Protectors come with a $5,000 connected equipment warranty for the repair or replacement of connected equipment damaged from surges or spikes that occur when they are properly connected to a KMC surge protector. All connected equipment claims must be made within 15 days of the damaging event. Connected equipment claims typically take 8-12 weeks to reach a resolution.
If you are the original purchaser of a KMC surge protector that you believe did not protect your electrical equipment during a damaging event, please fill out our connected equipment warranty claim form below. But first, please allow us to explain what to expect during your claim process.
1. Fill out and submit the online KMC Connected Equipment Warranty Claim form below. You will need to include details about the damaging event, a diagram clearly showing what devices were connected to the KMC surge protector and what wires/cables were also connected to those devices at the time of the damaging event, proof of purchase for KMC surge protector in question, model number of the KMC surge protector, a list of all connected equipment with brand and model number included, and photo evidence of the connected equipment and KMC surge protector.
2. Send the surge protector in question to the KMC Warranty Processing Center at the address below. Transit can take up to 1-2 weeks depending on your location.

* Please note that KMC is not responsible for your parcel while in transit. It is strongly advised that you use a method of delivery that can be traced in case your parcel is lost (i.e., registered mail, express post, or courier). If KMC does not receive your surge protector within 30 days of the claim form submittal, then the claim will be considered void.
3. When your parcel arrives the surge protector is sent to the KMC testing lab for review. This review typically takes 3-4 weeks.
4. Once the test results of the surge protector are complete, we will notify you of the result.
* Please note that customers with a surge protector that passes all tests will be contacted and advised that the connected equipment in question was damaged through other means (e.g., under voltage, surge through an unprotected line, general equipment failure, etc.) and that the claim process is now complete and no restitution will be granted.
5. If the surge protector fails the testing, then a KMC representative will contact you requesting a diagnostics report and quote on the connected equipment that was damaged and listed on the original claim form.
KMC does not recommend any specific repair company or facility; Simply visit your local repair facility or company and ask to obtain a diagnostics report on the damaged equipment and a quote to repair the damaged equipment. We allow up to 2 weeks for this to be provided back to KMC via email, or the claim will be void.
* Please note that if the repairer deems the unit not economical to repair, we will require a statement in writing explaining the issue with repairing and a quote for a replacement based on the features of the damaged equipment.
IMPORTANT: If at this stage you decide to go ahead with any of the repairs, or replace any damaged equipment, you do so at your own discretion. 
6. After the repair quotes and diagnostics are assessed, a settlement letter based on the average market value of your connected equipment will be sent to you. You will then have 1 week to sign the letter and email it back to KMC. 
7. Once the signed settlement letter is received KMC will send restitution in the form of an Amazon credit for the settled amount. This typically takes 5 business days.
Again, please keep in mind that, based on the above factors, a claim can take anywhere between 8 to 12 weeks to finalize.
